America Allen, yes as tough and country as it sounds, that’s her. With a bold voice she sings straight from her heart with lyrics that will leave you wanting more, America Allen has had this passion since she was a little girl. America chuckles as she’s asked to describe her music, “I would definitely rather hear the sound of a shotgun than a 22, I like hearing lyrics that take every ounce of your focus until that last strum is through. I want people to be able to listen and have a blast but at the same time be able to relate to the challenges we all go through in life.”
Born in Corpus Christi, Tx, America Allen was brought up in the country in Rockport, Tx. She started singing at her Uncle’s church “New Beginnings” when she was 6 years old. After years of Rockport, in 2007 she relocated to Ardmore, Oklahoma where she began performing bigger at much larger venues. In 2008 America Allen participated in the Sand Bass Festival’s Vocal contest in Madill, OK making first place in her age division which landed her to open up for a Texas Country Favorite – Jack Ingram. Shortly after that America started participating in “Taking Texas and Oklahoma To Our Injured Troops” which led to a different town every weekend around North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, performing while the audience and the public signed banners with their well wishes to the injured soldiers, while taking donations for our troops. Once a year the banners and donations would get taken to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC where America Allen and one more performer would put on a concert and visit with the troops. While in Washington, DC America Allen made a music video covering “Famous In a Small Town” by Miranda Lambert, which has been one of her idols for some time. America has also been influenced most of her childhood listening to Patty Loveless and Sara Evans. Her go to artist that made her feel like she was home every time was Alan Jackson.
